Instructional video: Delete/Retire Devices Version 4.0
New to Statseeker Version 4.0 is the ability to retire devices. This enables keeping the history of devices that are no longer active on the network.
When a device is retired, all polling and data collection for the device will be disabled. Also a retired device will no longer count towards licensing.
Retiring a Device
Care needs to be taken when retiring devices, as the process cannot be reversed.
There are two ways to retire a device:
- Device Details – This is best when retiring a single device. Select the device in the NIM Console, then run the "Device Details" report. Then click on the device name. This load the "NIM Edit Device" screen. Here you can click "Retire" to retire the device.
- Admin Tool > Delete/Retire Devices.
To retire more than one device at a time, it is quickest to use the "Delete/Retire Devices" configuration screen within the Admin tool. This enables selection of several devices.
Once the devices are selected, simply click "Retire" to retire the devices.
